Maria Matusiewicz

Dr Maria Matusiewicz is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, University of Gdańsk, based in the Department of Transport Policy and Economic Integration. Her office is located in room A101 and she holds regular consultation hours during the summer examination session.

Research Focus:
Her scholarship centres on the intersection of transport economics, urban logistics and sustainability. Key themes include:

• deployment of the Physical Internet in cities,
• environmental assessment of electric mobility,
• stakeholder openness to sustainable logistics measures,
• and the competitiveness of inland waterway transport.

Across more than thirty peer-reviewed contributions since 2011, her work has evolved from broad analyses of Polish and European freight policy to highly focused empirical studies on CO₂-reduction strategies, shared-logistics business models and the socio-economic determinants of sustainable urban freight systems.
