Albert Einstein College of Medicineمعرفی
Maria Marianovich is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cell Biology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her research focuses on understanding mechanisms regulating hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) niches in aging and cancer, with particular emphasis on sympathetic nervous system signaling, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and metabolic pathways. Her lab employs genetic models and 3D imaging to study niche dynamics in health and disease.
Research Interests:
- Role of sympathetic nerves and adrenergic signals in maintaining niche homeostasis
- ROS-driven remodeling of niches supporting myeloid malignancies
- Metabolic shifts in niche constituents during aging and leukemogenesis
Her work highlights the importance of niche microenvironment in HSC dysfunction, with recent breakthroughs published in Nature Cell Biology, Nature Medicine, and Science.
Dr. Marianovich collaborates extensively on projects involving stem cell niche engineering and therapeutic rejuvenation strategies. She is affiliated with the Michael F. Price Center in Bronx, NY.
