Maria Larsson-Lund

Maria Larsson-Lund is a chaired Professor and Head of Subject in Occupational Therapy at Luleå University of Technology's Department of Health, Education and Technology. She has over 25 years of research experience in occupational therapy and serves as the subject representative responsible for research, education, and collaboration initiatives. She teaches and examines students at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels.

Her research focuses on developing proactive internet-based interventions for rehabilitation, early work rehabilitation methods for cognitive difficulties in digital environments, and studying how neurological conditions affect participation in society. She examines how personal factors interact with environmental elements (social networks, technology, transport) to influence health and activity engagement. Her work also investigates digitalization's societal impacts and technology's role in promoting health through improved person-environment-technology matching.

As deputy scientific leader for LTU's PRECISE initiative and member of the European research group P4Play, she contributes to international projects on children's digital play environments. Her pedagogical development work focuses on digitalization, e-learning, and digital competence in higher education.
