Maria Kareskoski is a Senior Clinical Instructor and Adjunct Professor (docent) in Animal Reproduction Science at the University of Helsinki, specifically within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Production Animal Medicine department. She is also affiliated with the Helsinki One Health (HOH) initiative and the Helsinki One Health Teachers' Academy.
Her academic credentials include a DVM, PhD, and specialization as a Veterinary Specialist in Equine Medicine. She holds a diplomate status from the European College of Animal Reproduction.
Research interests span equine reproduction, reproductive toxicology, and One Health perspectives, particularly examining environmental contaminants like heavy metals and antimicrobial resistance in equine and other livestock contexts.
