Maria Karcz-Kaczmarek

Maria Karcz-Kaczmarek serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Administrative Law and Administrative Science at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz. Holding a Doctor of Laws degree, she contributes significantly to both teaching and research in administrative law.

Dr. Karcz-Kaczmarek graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz and the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wroclaw. Her international experience includes teaching through the Erasmus program at Vilnius University, the University of Latvia, and the University of Szeged. In 2011, she completed a research internship at the University of Strasbourg, studying EU institutions and the Council of Europe. From 2014-2015, she served as an expert in the European Social Fund project 'Good Law – Efficient Governance.'

Her research focuses on administrative law with particular expertise in cultural activities, monument protection, urban revitalization, and public trust professions. She places special emphasis on non-discrimination, social solidarity, and preventing social exclusion. Dr. Karcz-Kaczmarek has authored numerous scholarly articles and is a co-author of the Great Encyclopedia of Law and the Encyclopedia of Local Government.

Beyond her academic work, she provides practical training for legal professionals and public administration staff. Her personal interests include music, history, and mountain hiking, which complement her interdisciplinary approach to administrative law.
