Maria Isabel Santamaria Perez

Maria Isabel Santamaria Perez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Spanish Philology at the University of Alicante. She holds a PhD in Spanish Philology (Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado) and a Master's in Terminology from Pompeu Fabra University. Her research focuses on lexicology, monolingual and bilingual lexicography, specialized languages, terminology, and neology, with both diachronic and synchronic approaches.

Notable scientific awards include the Extraordinary Doctoral Award. She contributes to applied linguistics through teaching strategies for Spanish as a foreign language and intercultural communication training in healthcare contexts.
