Maria Gkoutziomitrou

Maria Gkoutziomitrou is a Lecturer at the Department of English Studies, Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), and a predoctoral research fellow funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (FPI scholarship, 2023-2027). She holds a BA from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2018) and an MA in English Linguistics (UCM, 2022, with Distinction). Her research focuses on experimental methods in cognitive sociolinguistics, sociolinguistics, and critical discourse analysis.

Her work examines language attitudes, social actor representation in digital discourse, and methodological innovations in sociolinguistic research. She is affiliated with the STAM-Lab Team, part of the PhD program's student committee, organizing activities for doctoral researchers.

Awards & Grants: Erasmus+ Scholarship (2015-2016), FPI Research Fellowship (2023-2027).

Professional Activities: Presented at international conferences and published a chapter analyzing male survivors' experiences of sexual violence through discourse analysis. Supervised by Dr. Gitte Kristiansen, her PhD investigates methodological effects in language attitude studies.
