Maria Frick is a University Lecturer (Lecturer) at the University of Oulu's Department of Languages and Literature, Faculty of Humanities. She holds a PhD and has earned the title of Docent. Fluent in Estonian and Finnish, her research focuses on linguistic and bodily involvement in multicultural interactions and the role of language in war and exile.
- Current projects: Linguistic and Bodily Involvement in Multicultural Interactions (LinBo) and Language and Social Interaction in War and Exile (LanWE).
- Research areas: interactional linguistics, multilingual/multimodal interaction, sociolinguistics, multiculturalism, and war/exile discourse.
