Maria Emery

Maria Emery serves as a Consultant Lecturer at the Air Force Institute of Technology School of Systems and Logistics (AFIT/LS), where she works as a contractor delivering professional continuing education to military, civilian, and contract personnel across the Department of Defense Logistics Enterprise. She also assists faculty and staff with graduate-level research activities including literature reviews, data collection, and technical writing.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Emery provided Acquisition Program Management Support to AFLCMC Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a contractor. She is a retired United States Army intelligence officer with significant experience overseeing intelligence and transportation equipment fielding and sustainment during Operation Enduring Freedom. Her military education background includes several years as an instructor for the United States Army Cadet Command and service as Department Chair and Professor of Military Science at Wright State University.

Ms. Emery's professional expertise spans Logistics Systems, Supply Chain Management, Military Intelligence Operations, Defense Program Management, and Acquisition Processes. Her dual perspective from both operational military experience and academic instruction provides unique value to defense logistics education. At AFIT/LS, she contributes to the school's mission of providing cutting-edge education that molds adaptable warriors capable of handling any contingency through competency-based curriculum covering Mission Optimization and Persistent Mission Generation domains.

Her work supports the Department of Defense's professional development requirements, including alignment with the Air Force Logistics Professional Development Program (LPDP) certificates across Maintenance Support, Deployment/Distribution/Transportation, Supply Management, and Life Cycle Logistics career fields. As a contractor-educator, she helps bridge practical military logistics experience with academic frameworks for current and future defense logistics professionals.
