Maria Elena Saguer Hom

Maria Elena Saguer Hom is an Associate Professor in the Food Technology area at the University of Girona (UdG). She is affiliated with the Higher Polytechnic School and the Department of Chemical, Agricultural Engineering and Agri-Food Technology. Her research focuses on the utilization of co- and by-products from the meat industry to develop techno-functional food ingredients.

• Coordinator of the Master in Food Biotechnology (2015-2021)
• Researcher in the Food Technology Research Group (GReTA) and member of the Catalan Food Technology Reference Network (XaRTA)

Her work contributes to sustainable materials and product design, particularly within agri-food engineering and biotechnology. She has been involved in teaching roles for the Degree in Agri-Food Engineering (GEA), Degree in Food Innovation and Safety (GINSA), and the Master in Food Biotechnology (MBA) at UdG.
