Maria Chlouveraki

Maria Chlouveraki is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2022. Previously, she served as Maitre de Conférences at Université de Versailles-Saint-Quentin for a decade. Her research focuses on algebraic structures and their applications in topology and combinatorics.

Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics from Université Paris 7 (2007) under Michel Broué, followed by a Habilitation thesis at Université de Versailles-Saint-Quentin (2016).

Research interests include representation theory of Hecke algebras, complex reflection groups, knot invariants, and low-dimensional topology. She explores connections between algebraic structures like Yokonuma-Hecke algebras and braid groups, with applications to knot theory and categorification.

Key contributions include work on the BMM symmetrising trace conjecture, defect theory in Hecke algebras, and framisation of Temperley-Lieb algebras. She advises graduate students Salim Rostam and Ilias Andreou.
