Maria Cahill is a Professor in the School of Information Science at the University of Kentucky, with a joint appointment in Educational Leadership Studies. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (2009). Her research focuses on public libraries, early childhood education, and inclusive practices, with a particular emphasis on library programs for children, accessibility, and evidence-based library practices. Cahill has led multiple grants funded by organizations like the Institute of Museum and Library Services, exploring topics such as virtual storytimes, services for children with disabilities, and library-community partnerships. She has been honored with the University Research Professor award (2021).
