Maria Baran

Maria Baran is an Assistant Professor and Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Psychology in Warsaw, affiliated with the Department of Social Psychology at SWPS University. She specializes in cross-cultural psychology, focusing on migration, acculturation, mental resilience, and intercultural competence.

Her work includes providing psychological support to migrants in crisis and developing integration policies for Ukrainian refugees. She collaborates with organizations like the ResWell Multi-national Resilience & Well-Being Research Collaboration, the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology, and the Rak&Roll Foundation for pro bono psychological services.

Scientific awards: Second prize in the Solomon Asch competition (2017).

She has over 13 years of experience delivering intercultural competence training to executives in Polish and international corporations, as well as cultural adaptation programs for expatriates in Poland.
