Maria A. Rocca

Maria A. Rocca is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and Director of the CNS White Matter Neuroimaging Unit at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. She has held these positions since October and July 2020, respectively, and also serves as Research Coordinator for the Hospital’s Phase I Unit since February 2020.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on applying MRI techniques to improve diagnosis and treatment for CNS white matter disorders, particularly multiple sclerosis, vasculitis, and migraine. She specializes in structural and functional MRI to study CNS function and disability progression.

Scientific Recognition: She has received multiple awards including the Top Italian Woman Scientist 2020, Publons’ Top 1% Peer Reviewer, and the Premio Rita Levi Montalcini. Her editorial roles include Associate Editor for Frontiers Neurology and Section Editor for Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders.
