Mari Eyice is an Assistant Professor in Early Modern History at Linköping University and a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Copenhagen. She holds a PhD from Stockholm University, where she conducted research on the Reformation’s emotional dimensions. Her work bridges disability history and the history of emotions, focusing on how bodily practices shape emotional experiences. She leads projects funded by the Swedish Research Council, including studies on empathy through early modern disability narratives. Key affiliations include the Network for the Study of Emotions and Network Language and Power at Stockholm University.
Her research interests span disability history, religious transformation in early modern Europe, and emotional practices in historical contexts. Recent publications explore empathy’s historical roots and the emotional landscape of the Swedish Reformation. She has presented her work in podcasts such as Bildningspodden Anekdot and Research and Circuses.
