معرفی
Dr. Margreet Ridder is a Research Fellow at the Queensland Brain Institute, University of Queensland. Her research focuses on neural circuits, ion channel physiology, and neurological disorders, with a particular emphasis on Parkinson’s disease mechanisms and motor control. She employs preclinical models to investigate therapeutic interventions like deep brain stimulation and explores molecular pathways underlying neurodegenerative processes.
Her work integrates neurophysiological techniques with genetic and cellular models, addressing topics such as chloride channel dysfunction in leukoencephalopathies and AMPA receptor trafficking. Collaborative projects include studies on astrocyte vacuolation and cyst pathogenesis, as well as circuit-level analyses of cortical dynamics during movement initiation.
Key research interests span ion channel regulation, synaptic plasticity, and developmental neurobiology. Dr. Ridder’s publications highlight contributions to understanding motor symptom relief in Parkinsonian mice and identifying cellular defects in genetic brain disorders. She has pioneered microscopy approaches for live cell imaging and continues to advance translational neuroscience research.
