Margot Taylor

Margot Taylor is a Professor cross-appointed from the Department of Paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children. She specializes in developmental cognitive neuroscience, focusing on neural bases of cognitive development in children.

Her research explores the development of frontal lobe functions and social cognition in both typical and atypical populations. Key areas include:

• Executive functions (working memory, inhibition, set-shifting)
• Emotional recognition and face processing
• Neuroimaging techniques (functional MRI, MEG, structural MRI)
• Impact of early brain development on cognitive outcomes

Dr. Taylor's clinical studies involve children with autism and those born very preterm, with longitudinal follow-up of preterm infants to assess developmental trajectories.
