Prof. Margot Brink is a Professor of French Literature and Cultural Studies at the European University of Flensburg, leading the Institute of Romance Studies and the BA Transcultural European Studies program. She holds a habilitation from Humboldt University (2011) and a PhD from Bremen University (1998). Her research focuses on Frankophone literature, community concepts since modernity, gender studies, and avant-garde movements. She has taught at institutions including Humboldt University, Osnabrück University, and Paris VIII.

- 1987–1994: Studies in French and Cultural Studies at Bremen University
- 1994–1998: Dissertation on diary literature (summa cum laude)
- 2011: Habilitation on Early Modern Romance Literature
Research Interests: Explores postcolonial contexts in contemporary literature, intertextuality, and feminist critiques. Recent work examines community discourse in Rousseau and Houellebecq, and cultural representations in Mayotte.
Key Contributions: Published over 20 monographs/editions and 40+ articles. Notable works include Topoi der EntSagung (2015) and co-edited volumes on community in literature (2013). Active in public lectures on gender transitions and interdisciplinary cultural studies.
Affiliations: Spokesperson for Romance Studies, organizes conferences like the 2025 Emmy Hennings festival. Engaged in Erasmus teaching exchanges and public outreach via science centers and film festivals.
