Dr. paed. Margitta Kuty is a University Lecturer (Scientific Associate) in English Didactics at the Institute of English and American Studies, University of Greifswald, Germany, where she has taught since 1992. She leads the sub-project „Subject and general didactic design of inclusive learning and teaching processes in relation to the subject of English“.
Education
- 1981 – Abitur (A-levels), Extended High School Eberswalde-Finow
- 1981-1985 – Teacher’s certificate (English & Russian), University of Greifswald (1984 study abroad at University of Smolensk)
- 1990 – PhD (Dr. paed.) in Methodology of English Language Teaching, University of Greifswald
- 1994 – Montessori Diploma
Research & Teaching Focus
Her expertise centres on English language teaching methodology, with a strong emphasis on inclusive pedagogy, differentiation, and learner autonomy. She integrates action research approaches, collaborating with in-service teachers and student teachers to investigate classroom practices. Dr. Kuty also coordinates practical school placements (SPÜ) and provides academic counselling for future English teachers.
She is active in continuing professional development for English teachers both in Germany and internationally (Cameroon, USA, Italy, UK) and heads the university’s minor in Bilingual Teaching and Learning.
