Margit Kern is an Honorary Professor in the Music Department at Bremen University of the Arts, renowned for her international career as an accordionist. She collaborates with ensembles like Musikfabrik, Neue Vocalsolisten, and Rias Kammerchor, and co-founded pioneering groups such as Ensemble Mixtura (with Katharina Bäuml) and Ensemble Etendis (with Olaf Tzschoppe). Her work spans early and contemporary music, focusing on cultural exchange and innovative transcriptions. Festivals like ZAMUS Cologne and Ultraschall Berlin frequently feature her performances, and she has initiated numerous self-driven projects.
