Margarita Vega

Margarita Vega, PhD, is a Professor of Philosophy at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology (DSPT). She holds a PhD from the University of Valladolid, Spain, and a BA from the University of Navarra, Spain.

Her research spans the philosophy of mind, ancient philosophy (particularly Aristotle), the ontology of art and aesthetics, metaphysics, and the concept of personhood. She integrates historical and contemporary perspectives to explore foundational philosophical questions.

Her recent publications focus on Aristotelian metaphysics, theological epistemology, and definitional debates in aesthetics. She is a member of the Berkeley Social Ontology Group, The American Philosophical Association, and the Spanish music aesthetics seminar SITEM.

In her teaching, she emphasizes blending traditional philosophical rigor with modern pedagogical flexibility through hybrid online/onsite courses. Students gain skills in translating between incommensurable philosophical systems and contributing original insights to ongoing debates.
