Margarida Duarte is a Professor of Economics at the University of Toronto, holding a joint appointment at the St. George Campus and the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). She serves as Vice-Dean Undergraduate Studies, overseeing academic programs and student affairs. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester (2001) and a B.A. in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1993).
Her research focuses on macroeconomics and international economics, particularly structural transformation, productivity, and economic development.
