Professor Margaretta Jolly is a Professor of Cultural Studies (Media and Film) at the University of Sussex, affiliated with the School of Media, Arts and Humanities. She has been at Sussex since 2007, leading research initiatives such as the Sisterhood and After: Women's Liberation Oral History Project and the Business of Women's Words collaboration with the British Library. Her academic roles include Director of Research (Knowledge Exchange and Impact) for her School until 2025.
Her research focuses on life writing, oral history, and audio/visual storytelling, particularly in women's history and gender studies.
