Margarete Lamb-Faffelberger is a Professor in Germanic Languages and Literatures at Lafayette College, where she teaches the four-year German curriculum integrating language learning with cultural inquiry and technology. She is affiliated with the Max Kade Center for German Studies and serves on the scholarly advisory board of the Jelinek Forschungszentrum at the University of Vienna.

Her scholarship focuses on 20th-century and contemporary Austrian literature and film, particularly the works of Nobel Laureate Elfriede Jelinek. She co-founded the Austrian Studies Association and serves as General Editor for the Austrian Culture book series by Peter Lang Publishing.
