Dr. Margaret Liu is an Assistant Professor and Senior Lecturer at Coventry Law School, Coventry University, where she also directs the Law PGR program. She holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow, an LLM from China University of Political Science & Law, and is a qualified solicitor in China and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).
Her research expertise spans:
- International arbitration and dispute resolution
- Human rights protections and state obligations
- Cross-border trade law frameworks
- Pedagogical approaches in legal education
Dr. Liu has successfully supervised six PhD students to completion in international arbitration and human rights law. Her recent publications examine anti-suit injunctions, OHADA arbitration mechanisms, and third-party rights in arbitration. She teaches international trade law, human rights law, and international criminal law at postgraduate level.
