Dr. Margaret Khaitsa is a Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology at Mississippi State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her work spans infectious disease epidemiology, food safety, and women empowerment through transboundary animal disease management and One Health initiatives.

Her publications span topics such as poultry production in Africa, antimicrobial resistance in food systems, and gender-sensitive extension programming. She has secured grants through projects like the USAID-funded CIMTRADZ and the MS International Infectious Disease Management program.
