Margaret Greenfields is a Professor of Social Policy at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), affiliated with the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care and the School of Allied Health and Social Care. Her research focuses on policy analysis, equity, and marginalized communities, particularly Romani Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, LGBT+, and migrant populations. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (2021) and a Chartered Manager. Her work emphasizes co-production with communities to address systemic inequities in health, education, and social services.
She holds advanced qualifications, including an MBA in Senior Leadership in HE and a PhD in Social Policy. Margaret has led numerous grants, including NHS-funded studies on refugee health research barriers and Traveller health needs. She advises UK and international bodies on policies affecting marginalized groups and collaborates globally with NGOs and governments.
Her teaching spans social policy, research methodologies, and doctoral supervision, with a focus on inclusive education and widening participation. Key areas of supervision include policy impacts on marginalized communities, Gypsy/Traveller health, and faith-based social action. She actively engages in media and public discourse to advocate for social justice.
