Margaret Cassidy is an Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She joined the faculty in 1982 with a Ph.D. in Sociology from Washington State University. Her roles include overseeing curriculum development and serving as secretary for the College of Arts and Sciences Curriculum Committee and faculty meetings.

- B.A. in Sociology, Washington State University
- A.A. in Liberal Arts, Spokane Falls Community College
Research & Teaching: Focuses on family sociology, social gerontology, and gender studies. She has advised numerous students and contributed to program development, including coordinating the Family Studies and Gerontology minors. Her teaching earned the Excellence in Teaching Award.

- Women’s Studies Service Award
- Women’s Studies Feminist Mentor Award
- Distinguished Service Award (American Ethnic Coordinating Office)
Service & Leadership: Served as Sociology Department Chair and Assistant Dean before becoming Associate Dean. Her work emphasizes curriculum innovation, faculty governance, and advancing the liberal arts mission.
