Dr. Maren Elfert is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at King's College London's School of Education, Communication & Society. With over a decade of professional experience at the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning in Hamburg prior to her academic career, her research examines global governance of education and the influence of international organizations on educational policies worldwide.
Her scholarly work focuses on the historical development of lifelong learning concepts within UNESCO frameworks. Awards include the prestigious SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship and 2018 National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. She previously held a postdoctoral position at the Centre for Global Citizenship Education and Research at the University of Alberta.
