Marek Tchórzewski

Marek Tchórzewski is a full Professor at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska (UMCS), where he leads the Department of Molecular Biology. As founder of the Intravital Cell Imaging Laboratory and co-founder of the Metabolomic Laboratory, he plays a pivotal role in Poland’s NanoFun multidisciplinary research infrastructure.

His research focuses on ribosomal structure and function, particularly the role of P-stalk proteins in regulating translational GTPases during genetic decoding. Recent work includes cryo-EM analyses of toxin-ribosome complexes and discovery of ribosomal protein isoforms.
