Marek Suchenek

Dr. Marek Suchenek is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at California State University Dominguez Hills, where he has been tenured since 1994. He teaches courses including Data Structures (CSC 311) and emphasizes providing students with first-hand knowledge of state-of-the-art computer science through classroom problem-solving demonstrations.

Dr. Suchenek earned his Ph.D. in Technical Sciences with Distinction from Warsaw University of Technology in 1979 and his M.Sc. in Mathematical Engineering from the same institution in 1973.

His research focuses on Logical Foundations of Computer Science, Deductive Databases, Reasoning About Knowledge, Nonmonotonic Logic, and Theoretical Computer Science. He has published 2 books, 16 peer-refereed journal publications, 12 peer-refereed other publications, 28 professional presentations, 20 non-refereed publications, and 10 reviews.

Dr. Suchenek has supervised numerous student assistants and teaching assistants throughout his career including Alex Soneriu, Ashley Dorris, Shawn Her Many Horses, and others. He served as Principal Investigator for a $262,525 FAA grant from 1988-1990.
