معرفی
Prof. Marek Schönherr is a full Professor of Physics at Durham University, affiliated with the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology (IPPP). He holds an External Fellow position under the FRESCO Programme during June–July and October–November 2025. His research focuses on precision predictions of the Standard Model for particle colliders like the LHC at CERN, combining theoretical calculations with experimental data.
Education:
- Diploma in Physics, TU Dresden (2007)
- PhD in Physics, TU Dresden (2012)
Research Interests: Schönherr specializes in high-energy physics phenomena, including soft-photon resummation, automated methods for combining fixed-order calculations with resummed results, and Electroweak Theory. His work supports future colliders' data analysis and interpretation.
Awards:
- Royal Society University Research Fellowship (2017)
Advising & Grants: While no advisees are listed, he has secured prestigious fellowships and contributed to postdoctoral research programs. His work aligns with IPPP's mission to bridge theoretical physics and experimental facilities like CERN.
Labs/Teams: Active within the IPPP, a UK national center for particle phenomenology, and collaborates internationally on collider physics initiatives.
