Scott Yost

Scott Yost is a Professor in the Department of Physics at The Citadel, where he has been a faculty member since 2008. He specializes in elementary particle theory with expertise in precision calculations for high-energy colliders like the LHC at CERN, where he maintains a Visiting Scientist affiliation. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University and dual B.S. degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Yost's research focuses on precision electroweak calculations, quantum field theory, and collider phenomenology. He develops computational methods for high-energy particle interactions, including the KKMC program for analyzing collisions at future lepton colliders. His work has applications in refining fundamental particle interactions and testing Standard Model predictions. He teaches courses spanning theoretical and mathematical physics at The Citadel.
