Mareile Haase is an Assistant Professor of Classics at the Department of Classics, University of Toronto. She has held affiliations as a Research Associate at the University of Erfurt (1999-2006) and received prestigious fellowships, including DAAD, Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, and multiple KHK Fellowships. Her research centers on Etruscan religion, Graeco-Roman Egypt, and the history of Classical scholarship.

- MA in Classical Archaeology/Etruscology, Egyptology, Latin Philology (University of Tübingen, 1994)
Her work explores the intersection of religious rituals in Etruscan imagery, the syncretism of Egyptian deities in Mediterranean contexts, and the evolution of classical studies in the 19th and 20th centuries. She co-edits the 'Research Report Roman Religion' for the journal Archiv für Religionsgeschichte since 2007.
