معرفی
Mareike Lehmann is a group leader at the Institute of Lung Health and Immunity (LHI) at Philipps University Marburg. Since 2020, she has focused on understanding the molecular processes underlying aging-related exacerbation of chronic lung diseases such as COPD and pulmonary fibrosis. Her research, supported by a 1.3 million euro grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG), investigates cellular aging mechanisms, particularly the role of extracellular vesicles in cell communication, inflammation, and tissue regeneration.
Research Focus:
Her work aims to uncover therapeutic strategies for lung cell rejuvenation and regeneration by analyzing extracellular vesicles. These vesicles are hypothesized to regulate cellular interactions critical for aging and repair processes in chronic respiratory conditions.
Scientific Awards:
- DFG Emmy Noether Independent Junior Research Group funding (1.3 million euros)
