Mareike Kehrer

Mareike Kehrer is a Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Knowledge Media (IWM) in Tübingen, Germany, where she has been working since 2017. She is part of the e-teaching Transfer Lab and focuses on the development and conceptual design of the information and qualification portal e-teaching.org, which supports the use of digital media in university teaching.

Her research interests encompass formats of knowledge transfer in higher education, writing sprints as collaborative content development methods, and the design of hybrid learning spaces with corresponding design patterns and best practices. Since 2023, she has been working on the AuftAkt project (Visibility and Update – Enhancing the content- and community-driven development of the portal e-teaching.org), following previous work on the HybridLR project (2020-2023) and Smart Teaching Baden-Württemberg project (2017-2020).

Her publication record demonstrates expertise in educational design patterns, hybrid learning spaces, and digital media integration in higher education. Her recent work shows a strong focus on sustainable implementation of digital teaching practices, collaborative content development, and the practical application of design patterns in educational settings. Mareike Kehrer holds a Master of Arts in 'Bildung und Medien – eEducation' from FernUniversität in Hagen (2011) and previously worked as an academic associate in the department of media didactics at the University of Education Weingarten (2011-2017).

She has been actively involved in numerous conference presentations, workshops, and the organization of academic events, including the 20-year anniversary conference of e-teaching.org in 2023. Her work bridges research and practice, focusing on creating practical resources and frameworks that support university educators in effectively implementing digital technologies in their teaching.
