Marcus Pandy

Professor Marcus Pandy is the Chair of Mechanical & Bio Engineering at the University of Melbourne's Department of Mechanical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. He holds a PhD from The Ohio State University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University. His research focuses on computational modeling of the musculoskeletal system, particularly muscle and joint function during activities like walking. He has authored over 150 journal papers and secured grants from the Australian Research Council (ARC), National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), and industry partners.

Key research areas include biomechanics of joint replacement designs (e.g., knee and shoulder arthroplasty), musculoskeletal injury prevention (e.g., equine limb injuries), and neuromuscular control in aging populations.
