Marcus Møller Larsen

Professor Marcus Møller Larsen holds dual roles as Professor of Strategic and International Management at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and Adjunct Associate Professor at BI Norwegian Business School. His research focuses on the intersection of strategy, organizational theory, and international business, with a particular emphasis on offshoring, emerging economy multinationals, and global value chains. He leads the research project “Firm Formalization and Sustainable Development” funded by the Independent Research Council Denmark. His work has been published in top-tier journals like the Journal of International Business Studies and Strategic Management Journal, and his PhD received prestigious awards in 2014. Larsen teaches at all academic levels, including a Coursera MOOC on strategy formulation, and serves as associate editor of Global Strategy Journal. His research also explores informal economies, CSR in global value chains, and the impacts of complexity on multinational enterprises.

Recent Research Trends: Larsen’s recent work addresses challenges in global strategy, including the long-term dynamics of multinational enterprises, governance in offshoring, and the role of informal institutions in African economies.
