Marcus Moberg
دانشیار · Molecular Regulation of Skeletal Muscle
Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciencesمعرفی
Marcus Moberg is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physiology, Nutrition and Biomechanics at GIH. He holds roles as a Lecturer and Laboratory Manager, overseeing research and teaching in molecular exercise physiology. His primary affiliation is with the Department of Physiology, Nutrition and Biomechanics at GIH.
Research interests focus on the molecular mechanisms regulating skeletal muscle mass, metabolic stress responses (lactate and hypoxia), and exercise neurophysiology. Current projects investigate lactate signaling in muscle adaptations, hypoxia effects on resistance exercise, and BDNF regulation in brain health. His work bridges elite athlete performance optimization and clinical applications in metabolic diseases.
Key articles (2025–2014) explore insulin resistance, BDNF dynamics across ages, and muscle signaling in glycogen-depleted states. Notably, his 2020 study showed exogenous lactate infusion does not alter muscle protein synthesis post-exercise. His research emphasizes translational outcomes for aging populations and metabolic disorders.
Laboratory facilities include advanced molecular biology tools and exercise physiology equipment. Collaborations span international teams in endocrinology, neurophysiology, and sports science. No awards are listed, though frequent peer-reviewed contributions suggest active grant-seeking in muscle biology and exercise medicine.
