Kerstin Hamrin

Kerstin Hamrin is a Senior Lecturer at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH), affiliated with the Department of Physiology, Nutrition and Biomechanics. She holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from Karolinska Institutet (1999–2004). Her research has transitioned from pioneering microdialysis techniques in human skeletal muscle to focusing on pedagogical strategies in exercise science education. She currently investigates how teaching methods and assessment practices can enhance long-term retention of human biology knowledge among students.

• Optimizing higher education curricula in exercise science
• Student learning strategies in biomedical disciplines
• Past work: Microdialysis applications in muscle metabolism studies

Collaborations: Active research with colleagues from GIH and Örebro University. Former collaborations focused on insulin and vanadate effects in muscle metabolism.

Labs/Teams: Works within the Physiology, Nutrition and Biomechanics department's education innovation group and previously contributed to microdialysis research teams.
