Marcos Sánchez is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the USC School of Architecture, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in architecture studios, history, and theory. He holds a BA in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.Arch from Princeton University. Sánchez has prior teaching experience at SCI-Arc and the Bergen School of Architecture in Norway. He co-founded International House of Architecture (IHA) with Mark Wasiuta and is co-author of the forthcoming book Environmental Communications: Contact High, a seminal work on the West Coast media collective Environmental Communications. His work has been exhibited at major venues such as the Chicago Architecture Biennial, Istanbul Design Biennale, and LAXArt Gallery.
His research interests span architectural history, theory, and media studies, with a focus on intersections between art, architecture, and contemporary culture. Recent writings appear in ArtLies, Domus, and an upcoming MIT Press anthology. Sánchez contributes to global architectural education through USC’s Global Studies Latin America program, sending students to Cuba, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
