Dr. Marcos Nadal Roberts is a Full Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), serving as Director of the Department of Psychology and Vice Rector of Strategic Planning, Internationalization, and Cooperation. He holds a Licenciado in Psychology (2001) and a PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences (2008), both from UIB. His research focuses on psychological and neural mechanisms underlying aesthetic and moral evaluations, including perceptual, cognitive, and affective processes. He is part of the Human Evolution and Cognition Group (EvoCog) and has contributed to over 80 publications, earning prestigious awards such as the Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten Award (2014) and Daniel E. Berlyne Award (2017).
- Administrative Roles: Director of Department of Psychology, Vice Rector, and member of multiple academic committees.
- Teaching: Leads courses in History of Psychology, Psychology of Art, and Experimental Aesthetics at undergraduate and master’s levels. Also teaches academic writing in English.
His research spans 10 funded projects internationally, nationally, and regionally, collaborating with institutions like the Clínica Rotger hospital. He actively participates in scientific outreach, including media engagements and events like the Science Fair and UIB’s Summer University.
