Marco Silvestri is an Associate Professor at the University of Parma's Department of Industrial Systems and Technologies, where he has worked since 2002. He also serves as a Docent Researcher at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) since 2011.
- Co-founder and CTO of M3datek (2016–2020)
- Head of Automated Production Systems Lab at University of Parma
- Principal Investigator for competitive projects with Innosuisse, EU FP7, and regional funding
Research Focus: Industrial automation, mechatronics, and predictive maintenance with applications in food industry machinery and medical device manufacturing. His work spans robotics, B-spline trajectory optimization, and vibration control of flexible structures.
