Marco Giometto

Marco Giometto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at Columbia Engineering, Columbia University. His research bridges turbulence physics, computational methods, and interdisciplinary applications.

• Education: BS and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Padua; PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Braunschweig TU University (2014); PhD in Mechanical Engineering from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (2016).

Giometto's work focuses on turbulence dynamics and scalable parallel algorithms to enable large-scale simulations of practical flows. His research spans engineering mechanics, environmental systems, and data-driven physical modeling, with implications for geophysics, biology, and energy technologies.
