Marco Depolo is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Psychology "Renzo Canestrari" of the University of Bologna. He previously held a Full Professorship in Work & Organizational Psychology until his voluntary retirement in November 2019. His academic career includes roles as Vice-Rector for Organizational Innovation, Dean of multiple academic programs, and international visiting professorships. Depolo specializes in psychosocial factors in workplaces, retirement planning, and organizational well-being. His research spans topics like remote work dynamics, gender disparities in academia, and the impact of aging and technology on labor markets. He has contributed to policy-oriented projects such as evaluating school leadership performance and designing tools for assessing academic work quality. Depolo is a former President of the Italian Society for Work & Organizational Psychology (SIPLO) and has served on scientific boards of international associations.
