Marco De Angelis is a Senior Assistant Professor (fixed-term) in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bologna, Italy. He serves as coordinator for the H-WORK European project (H2020 GA 847386) focused on multilevel mental health interventions in SMEs and public workplaces, and is an active member of the Human Factor, Risk and Safety research group and LAV.OR.I.O. Research Lab.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology Studies and Research (2011) from "La Sapienza" University of Rome
- Master's degree in Work and Organizational Psychology (2013, 108/110) from University of Bologna
- PhD in Psychology (2019) from University of Bologna with visiting research at University of Groningen
De Angelis specializes in mental health interventions, technology acceptance in high-risk environments, and human factors engineering. His work examines cognitive workload in Industry 5.0, AI integration at work, and burnout prevention through digital solutions. He investigates how gender and age differences impact safety technology adoption, with applications spanning occupational health psychology and risk management systems.
As thesis supervisor, he guides research on digital mental health tools and AI workplace integration. He contributes to major European projects including FP7 "Low Carbon at Work", H2020 "XCycle", "BRIGAID", and "STEPbySTEP", developing evidence-based organizational interventions for workplace wellbeing and safety.
De Angelis leads the LAV.OR.I.O. Research Lab focusing on work-related stress, job career development, and ergonomics. His team explores innovative organizational processes, human resources development, and aging workforce challenges through collaborative EU-funded research across 13 institutions in 9 countries.
