Dr. Marco Davare is a Reader in Neurophysiology at King’s College London, affiliated with the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine and Department of Population Health Sciences. He leads the Horizon Europe MSCA-DN TReND project and co-founded a Digital Health research center at Brunel University.
- Academic Background: PhD in Neurosciences (UCLouvain, 2008), BSc/MSc in Biomedical Sciences (UCLouvain)
- Research Focus: Interdisciplinary work at the intersection of movement neurophysiology, cognitive science, and digital rehabilitation technologies. Key areas include sensorimotor control of skilled hand movements, TMS-based brain stimulation, and smart technology integration for motor disorders.
Publication Trends: Recent articles explore TMS modulation of cortical excitability, sensorimotor memory mechanisms, and virtual reality applications. His work bridges premotor cortex interactions, parietal network dynamics, and clinical translation for conditions like cervical dystonia.
- Scientific Awards: BBSRC David Phillips Fellowship (2012), FWO Odysseus Grant (2012-2019)
- Teaching: Leads courses on Evidence-Based Practice and Research Methodology in Physiotherapy
- Grants: £3.1M total funding as PI from BBSRC, MRC, UKRI, and Horizon Europe
Collaborations: Works with institutions including UCL, KU Leuven, Brunel University, and European partners. Current project: Stroke rehabilitation using FES and gamified VR (TSB Technology Strategy Board, 2025-2026).
