معرفی
Dr. Marco Conte is a Lecturer in Physical Chemistry at the University of Sheffield, affiliated with the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. He specializes in catalysis, analytical chemistry, and physical chemistry, focusing on scale-up applications. He holds a Laurea in Chemistry from the University of Padova (2003) and a PhD from Cardiff University (2006). His postdoctoral research included roles at the University of York, Cardiff School of Chemistry, Cardiff Catalysis Institute, and Rutherford Appleton Laboratories. Since 2013, he has been at Sheffield, expanding his role from teaching to include research in physical chemistry and catalysis.
His research focuses on developing novel heterogeneous catalysts for sustainable chemical processes, including fine chemical synthesis, hydrogen production, and biomass-to-fuel conversion. Techniques employed include advanced spectroscopic methods like NMR, EPR, and XPS. He has over 50 publications, an H-index of 30, and 4,000+ citations. He serves on the editorial board of Molecular Catalysis.
Teaching interests include physical chemistry, catalysis, and sustainable technologies. He teaches modules such as Chemistry at Surfaces and Physical Chemistry of Heterogeneous Catalysis, emphasizing communication of scientific concepts to non-specialists.
- Awards: MRSC (Royal Society of Chemistry), FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy).
- Lab/Research Group: Focuses on catalyst design and sustainable chemical processes.
