Marco Bortoli is a Research Fellow at the Hylleraas Centre for Quantum Molecular Sciences, University of Oslo. He holds a MSc in Chemistry from the University of Padova (2015) and a PhD in Molecular Sciences from the University of Padova and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2019). His research focuses on computational chemistry, organometallic reactions, and machine learning applications in molecular dynamics. He has conducted postdoctoral research on projects including the MC4 initiative and the EU-funded FRINGE project. His work spans areas such as enzyme inhibition mechanisms, antioxidant activity of natural products, and selenium-based drug design. He collaborates extensively, publishing in journals like Scientific Reports, Food Chemistry, and Journal of Chemical Education.
His academic career includes roles at the University of Padova (2019-2020) and University of Girona (2020-2022). Key research interests include molecular modeling, chemical reactivity, and educational tools like the 'Chemical Quest' board game. He contributes to interdisciplinary projects at the Hylleraas Centre, advancing quantum molecular sciences and computational methods.
