Marco Battaglini is the Edward H. Meyer Professor of Economics at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences and Department of Economics. He earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2000.
His research focuses on political economy, collective action problems, legislative bargaining, and social networks. Recent work explores dynamic collective action models, the influence of political donors, and applications of machine learning in public policy.
Award highlights include the Michael Wallerstein Award for best article in political economy (2008) and recognition for the Best Article on Effective Lawmaking (2020).
He directs the Cornell Political Economy Conference and has received multiple NSF grants supporting his research on collective dynamics.
